How it works
The validator parses the XML with your browser, then checks the sitemap protocol rules: the urlset (or sitemapindex) root with the correct namespace, a <loc> in every entry, absolute http(s) URLs on a single host, no duplicates, lastmod in W3C date format (2026-01-31 or 2026-01-31T10:00:00+01:00), valid changefreq values, priority between 0.0 and 1.0, and the 50,000-URL / 50 MB limits.
