How it works
Comments are removed (except conditional comments), runs of whitespace are collapsed to a single space, and whitespace between tags is removed. The content of <pre>, <textarea>, <script> and <style> is protected; optionally, inline CSS and JS get a basic whitespace/comment cleanup.

Can minification break layout?
Rarely: removing the space between two inline elements (like links) can glue them. Check the result in the HTML Previewer.
