How it works
X% of Y = Y × X ÷ 100: 20% of 150 is 30. X is what percent of Y = X ÷ Y × 100: 30 out of 120 is 25%. Adding a percentage multiplies by (1 + p ÷ 100); subtracting one multiplies by (1 − p ÷ 100). You can type decimals with a comma or a dot (12,5 or 12.5).
FAQ
How do I calculate a percentage in my head?
10% is the number divided by 10; 5% is half of that; 1% is divided by 100. 15% of 80 = 8 + 4 = 12.
Is X% of Y the same as Y% of X?
Yes! 8% of 50 = 50% of 8 = 4. Handy for mental math.
