How it works

KadiTools decodes your JPG file in the browser, draws it onto an in-memory canvas and encodes it again as WebP. JPG photos have no transparency, so the PNG will be fully opaque — but it will never lose more quality when you edit and re-save it.

WebP files are typically 25–35% smaller than JPG or PNG at the same visual quality, which speeds up websites. Every modern browser supports it. Use the quality slider to trade file size against detail: 85–92% is visually identical to the original for most photos.

FAQ

Is my JPG uploaded to a server?

No. The whole conversion happens in your browser using the Canvas API; the file never leaves your device.

Will converting to WebP reduce quality?

WebP is a lossy format, so a little detail is discarded. At 90% quality the difference is very hard to see; raise it to 100% for maximum fidelity.

Is there a size limit?

There's no artificial limit. Very large images (above roughly 50 megapixels) may be slow or fail on phones because of browser memory limits.
