🔒 Your data is processed locally in your browser and is never uploaded to our servers.

How it works

The file is read into memory by your browser and hashed with the Web Crypto API. Nothing leaves your device. Because the whole file is loaded at once, very large files (over roughly 2 GB) can't be processed here.

Security notes

A matching hash proves the file is identical to the one the hash was computed from. It only protects you if the hash itself came from a trustworthy source, such as the publisher's site over HTTPS.

FAQ

Which algorithm should I compare?

Use the same one the publisher lists. SHA-256 is the most common. The comparison field checks all three.
