How it works
Changing speed “like a record” simply resamples the audio: faster is also higher-pitched (nightcore), slower is lower (slowed & reverb style). Keeping the pitch uses a time-stretching algorithm (WSOLA) that cuts the audio into small overlapping grains and re-spaces them, so voices sound natural at 0.75× or 1.5×. Extreme factors produce audible artifacts.
